A little bit about how it was done ...
Since a small kid, I've loved looking at the stars. Now with all
the power of a PC, you can look at the stars without getting
cold or having to stay up late.
The Supernova here is created using a range of volumetric textures
and some clever lighting. I may do a tutorial on this one so keep
a lookout!
